JSSP Club News

The Montpelier Older Kids Club met on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Legacy Center for the noon meal with eight members in attendance and one guest, Kathy Lutz.

President Elaine Heinrich opened the meeting with those in attendance reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. A reading was given by Dottie Murchie titled “Duty Calls,” which was enjoyed by all. The secretary and treasurer’s report were read and approved. There was no correspondence to address. For old business, Heinrich was recognized for all the volunteer work she does by members of the club. Under new business, Marlys Boughton will provide a dessert at the next meeting in honor of her upcoming birthday. Dessert was served at the Nov. 5 meeting by Sharon Hatlewick in honor of her husband’s birthday. The door prize, a meal ticket, was won by Lorraine Gall.

Bingo was called by Murchie. The small picture frame was won by Murchie, and the large picture frame and blackout were won by Lutz. Whist was played with Murchie taking high and Patti DeBuck taking low, with no one winning the deuce. In pinochle, high was won by Heinrich, and low won by Janet VanBruggen.

The next meeting will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Legacy Center. Guests are always welcome.
