Kathy Clemens of the Jamestown Lions Club has become district governor for District 5NE of Lions Clubs International for 2019-20.

Clemens officially became district governor on July 1 at the Lions Clubs International convention in Milan, Italy. She succeeds Rob Lein of the Fargo Lions Club.

District 5NE covers eastern North Dakota.

Clemens grew up on a farm near Hatton, N.D., and graduated from Hatton High School. She attended the University of Jamestown and received a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in business administration. She is controller for Central Sales in Jamestown.

She joined the Jamestown Lions in 2010. Clemens became president of the club and held numerous District 5NE positions before being elected second-vice district governor two years ago.
