Elkettes hold meeting

The Jamestown Elkettes met in February. Vice President Pat Smith presided. Vicky Hassler, Judy Kulla, Lyn Rutherford and Cat Pfeiffer were hostesses. The group ate a Mardi Gras meal.

Guests were Exalted Ruler Rhonda Newton, Tammy Quinlan, Sherry Armitage, Larry Knoblich and Jerry and Lorene Iverson.

Knoblich said this is the 40th Runnin O’ the Green. He asked Elkettes to help with registration. The Iversons offer rides before, during and after the race for donations which go to Relay for Life and Camp Grassick.

The treasurer’s report was approved. The club’s balance is $5,012.98. The club sent $4,000 for Giving Hearts Day to Camp Grassick.

A report on Souper Saturday was given. About 50 people attended the Feb. 3 lunch. Next year the club will need more help in organizing the event and may change the starting time.

Kim Theole will bring new ideas for fundraising.

Kitchen renovations were discussed and tabled until more quotes and drawings are available.

Smith suggested the club look ahead for a date to deep clean the facilities. Hassler won the dinner prize.

Hostesses for the March meeting are Theole, TJ Qual, Norine Knutson and Mel Headland.
