Helion speaks on program at Rotary
President Austin Bauer welcomed everyone to the July 31 Rotary meeting held at Quality Inn and Suites. Tricia Seckerson gave the table blessing, and Mark Reeves and Matt Pepple led the group in singing. Emily Bivens collected “Happy Dollars.”
The program was presented by Alicia Helion, Ph.D. member of the Fargo-Moorhead Morning Rotary Club. Helion Is Midwest mission director for March of Dimes. She has done extensive work in maternal child health in Ethiopia and the United States. The program provides prenatal care for Ethiopian women and American Indian women across a five-state area which includes North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana and Minnesota. She thanked Rotary Global International Grant Scholarship, which will be providing funds for the project. The continued success of the project depends on the availability of funds.
Superintendent Rob Lech of Jamestown Public Schools has today’s program. He will speak about the upcoming referendum. Shirley Jackson has the table blessing, Gary Riffe and Mark Reeves the music, and Gary Riffe is the sergeant-at-arms. Rotary meets every Tuesday at the Quality Inn and Suites at 12:10 p.m.
