Montpelier OK Club holds meeting
The Montpelier OK (Older Kids) Club met Aug. 7 at the Legacy Center in Jamestown with eight members present.
The OK Club was organized in Montpelier, thus the name. People wonder if those attending the club’s meetings have to be from Montpelier; they do not. Most all previous members have moved or passed away.
The club has remained active with new members and now meets in Jamestown where most live. New members are welcome. The club meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month. There is a noon meal together before the meeting.
Elaine Heinrich called the most recent meeting to order with the pledge to the flag. The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved. There was no business at this time. Patti DeBuck won the door prize.
Bingo was called by Gerald Van Bruggen. DeBuck won the small picture frame and Sonia Berg won the large picture frame and the blackout. Whist was played with Berg winning high and MaryLee O'mera winning low. Pinochle was played with Heinrich winning high and Janet Van Bruggen winning low.
Berg furnished the lunch. The next meeting will be Aug. 21. Visitors are welcome.
