American Legion Auxiliary holds blood drive

The American Legion Auxiliary in Wimbledon hosted a blood drive with Vitalant, formerly United Blood Services, on Jan. 24 at the Community Center which helped collect a total of 35 units of blood and one unit of plasma for patients in need.

Thirty-four individuals volunteered to donate blood, and 29 individuals were able to donate. Seven donors also came forward to donate Power Red Cells (2RBC), which collects two units of red blood cells. Five people volunteered for the first time.

Vitalant expressed its gratitude to Rose Ann Fehr, who coordinated the drive, and the American Legion Auxiliary which sponsored the blood drive, as well as others who assisted the day of the drive: Marge Guscette, Doris Slag and Mary Plumb.
