Sons of Norway to meet Feb. 19
is the topic at the Sons of Norway Lodge’s next meeting. People of non-Norwegian heritage may think lutefisk is a weird tasting food but they probably haven’t tried salty black licorice candy, called salmiak in Norwegian. The reasons Norwegians have come to love this salty licorice treat
will be explored as well as Norway’s tradition of producing some of the world’s best chocolate confections. Learn why one candy bar brand, which has been around for nearly 80 years, is considered a national treasure and a must-have when hiking Norway’s mountains. Attendees will sample assorted chocolate bars, gummies and the infamous salty licorice.
The Sons of Norway meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Ave Maria Village, 501 19th St. NE, Jamestown. A brief business meeting precedes the program.
Coffee, a light snack and the opportunity to visit with members and friends follow the program. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call or text Jodi Bunde at 368-1938.
