Tourism is always interested in ways to educate and entertain residents and visitors. The Stutsman County Museum hosts Front Porch Chats during the summer every Sunday at 2 p.m.
Most of the presentations are regarding North Dakota history, said organizer Alden Kollman.
Programs at the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse are set for 1 p.m. Saturdays through Aug. 24.
The courthouse also offers a junior sheriff program for children, said Steve Reidburn. In addition, the courthouse is also offering an escape room for teens and adults.
“These are beautiful places,” said Jamestown Tourism Director Searle Swedlund. “And now we’ve created more reasons to come visit them.”
Twenty-four members and guests attended the regular Kiwanis meeting on June 3.
Don and Sharon Caine led singing. Searle Swedlund collected “Happy Dollars.”
- District Convention is set for Aug. 9-11 in Fargo.
- Kiwanis is collecting nonperishable items for the food pantry through June 30. All donations will benefit the Salvation Army and Community Action.
The 50 or so members of Jamestown Kiwanis meet each Monday at noon. The Jamestown Kiwanis satellite club meets one Tuesday each month. The next meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. June 11 at Wells Fargo.
