JRMC Auxiliary learns about Cancer Center
The JRMC Auxiliary met at the hospital on June 3 with 27 members present. Marlene Axtman led a memorial service for two members who passed on in 2018: Helen Hample and Ernest Hubacher.
CEO Mike Delfs highlighted the Cancer Center opening scheduled for June 13. He also said JRMC is working to find OB/GYN doctors and is hopeful that may happen soon. Service chairs reported on volunteers working throughout the hospital: front desk, magazine distribution, stitching surgery pillows, knitting baby caps, manning the surgery center volunteer desk, making Telecare calls, maintaining the Gift Shoppe, and escorting patients between the hospital and clinic. Volunteers would also be appreciated in the swing bed program visiting patients.
The business “Collective Goods” is scheduled to come to JRMC Aug 8-9 and offer a variety of gifts for purchase. A bake sale will be held at the same time. The Auxiliary will hold a “Cash Calendar” as a fundraiser in August, and the annual Tea for All Seasons is scheduled for Sept 10 at Trinity Lutheran. A salad luncheon for employees is in the works for the fall.
