At the April 28 Lions meeting, Dwaine Heinrich introduced guest speaker Corry Shevlin, business development director for the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. Shevlin said there are two potential businesses that JSDC is working with for possible operations at the Spiritwood Development Park. One is a soybean oil plant and the other is a 32-acre-under-glass greenhouse operation. He also spoke about the Buffalo City Park vision and a new program dealing with reimbursement to businesses for sponsoring internships.

In other business, Kathy Boe opened the meeting with Pledge of Allegiance and Kevin Sortland gave the table prayer. During the meeting, Past District Gov. Heinrich presented Boe with the International President’s Leadership Medal. This award is given to members who have shown exceptional leadership skills while holding various officer positions. Also receiving recognition were Dick Hall for 60 years as a member and Steve Thompson for 10 years.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Sabir's Buffalo City Grill. Guests are welcome, and for information on becoming a Lion or attending the meeting, contact Randy Lebahn at 320-1678.
