The Jamestown Optimist Club inducted new member Courtney VanDyke, center, at its April 6 meeting. Also pictured are sponsor Trent VanDyke and Optimist Club member Alissa Hanson.

The Jamestown Optimist Club inducted new member Courtney Van-Dyke at its April 6 meeting.

VanDyke was sponsored by her husband, Trent. She said she joined the Optimist Club because of her desire to help youth in the community and to live out the mission of spreading “optimism.”

VanDyke, who is originally from Bismarck, joined First Community Credit Union as an ag/ commercial loan officer in October 2012. She has a Bachelor of Science in finance with a minor in accounting from the University of Mary.

Prior to her role at FCCU, she worked in the commercial loan department at Union State Bank in Hazen, N.D. She also has previous experience as an accounting and finance intern for Montana-Dakota Utilities Resources Group Inc. and WBI Holdings in Bismarck and has served as a financial service representative for American Bank Center.
