Northern Plains Electric Cooperative announces that Kaylee Panchot is its 2022 Basin Electric Power scholarship winner.

Panchot is a freshman at North Dakota State University, majoring in nursing and minoring in business. She works at a senior living community in West Fargo as a CNA while pursuing her degrees. Her goal is to become a registered nurse and work in a hospital, hopefully with children. She is a 2021 graduate of Jamestown High School and the daughter of Northern Plains Electric members Douglas and Linda Panchot of Jamestown.

The scholarship is based on many factors including academics, extracurricular activities, community involvement and a written essay on “what challenges face rural electric cooperatives in the coming years and how do you think challenges should be addressed?”

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
