The Sons of Norway lodge is hosting a program on the Viking Age at 7 p.m. today in the Gardenette Community Room. Tim Jorgenson and Markus Krueger from the Hjemkomst Center of Moorhead, Minn., will speak on what people can learn about the Vikings from recreating Viking Age artifacts. Jorgenson will display and discuss the use of a reproduced Viking tent, sea chest, weapons, cooking gear, bone and antler needles and clothing in an effort to figure out what life was like back then. Krueger will share his knowledge of Viking history, the lands, the leaders and the chronology of the Viking Age.
Refreshments will be served after the program. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Mary Englund at 252-2930. The Gardenette Community Room is located at 1321 Gardenette Drive in Jamestown.
