U.S. News & World Report has announced the 2022-2023 Best Colleges . Serving as a guide for prospective students and their families, the rankings evaluate 1,500 colleges and universities on up to 17 measures of academic quality. The University of Jamestown has again been ranked as one of the best academic institutions in the Midwest.
Polly Peterson, University of Jamestown president, credits UJ’s approach to education, combining the liberal arts with professional preparation, as one of the top reasons the university continues to be ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
"Our commitment to creating holistic graduates who are well-rounded professionals and global citizens has helped make UJ a place of distinction in the region,” Peterson said.
To calculate the rankings, U.S. News focuses on academic quality and places emphasis on outcome measures, including graduation rates, retention rates, graduate indebtedness and social mobility. Outcomes are the most highly weighted ranking factor, contributing 40% to each school's overall score
“Over the years, we have expanded our academic offerings, significantly developed our campus facilities, and increased our endowment — leading to enrollment growth and a 99% graduate placement rate,” Peterson said. “We feel blessed that our commitment to our students has achieved national recognition.”
