Jamestown Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 312 recently sponsored a TOPS Roundup Rally at the Legacy Center in Jamestown with 29 TOPS members attending. Guests included TOPS members from Carrington, Fessenden and Jud.
The guest speaker was Robin Kleese, a personal trainer certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and The Cooper Institute, who has experience in training clients with varying needs and abilities. Kleese presented “Hints for Healthy Living” including benefits of healthy nutrition and exercise. Participants were given “exercise bands” with Kleese leading participants in a strength-routine session in a sitting position.
Other activities included a welcome by Mary Geffre, chapter leader, skits, readings, veggie bingo led by Madelyn Hoffer, sing-a-long with TOPS songs led by Julie Orr and accompanied by Pearl Silzly, “My Story to TOPS” by Jackie Readel, an auction of items by Dorothy Speidel and healthy treats provided by the chapter.
Jamestown TOPS Chapter 312 meets on Thursdays at the Salvation Army with weigh in from 8 to 9 a.m. followed by a meeting at 9 a.m. which includes programs encouraging members to “Take Off Pounds Sensibly.”
