Forum News ServiceMANKATO, Minn. - The former Minnesota State University-Mankato football player who was beaten outside a Mankato bar last spring has been diagnosed with epilepsy.Isaac Kolstad suffered a seizure, prompting tests and the epilepsy diagnosis, his wife Molly Kolstad reported Saturday on his CaringBridge.org site.Isaac Kolstad, who played high school football in Mankato, has been recovering since he suffered a skull fracture when he was knocked to the ground and kicked in the head outside a Mankato bar in May.Former University of Minnesota quarterback Philip Nelson, also from Mankato, and St. Peter resident Trevor Shelley have been charged with assaulting Kolstad.Kolstad started his college football career at North Dakota State University before he transferred to Minnesota State. He was celebrating his college graduation the night of the assault.
