Sherry Rae Musgrave is the artist of the month at Unison Bank.
In 2015, Musgrave was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She said after recovery she started her journey as a card maker. Sue Trecker, Enstyle, sells Musgrave's cards in her salon.
After four years of being a card maker, Musgrave wanted to do something different and started experimenting with mixed media and other forms. She is learning art journaling through watching videos on YouTube, in particular, Maremi small art. She posts creations to to Maremi’s Creative Café.
She said she enjoys making artist trading cards; the only requirement is they are made in sets of three or four and are the size of a regular playing card. She hopes to trade with artists from all 50 states and other countries.
“Art is something that makes you breathe with a different kind of happiness,” she said.
Musgrave and her husband have been married for more than 50 years and have three daughters, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
