The Jamestown High School Band will present its concert titled "Together" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, in the Jamestown High School Theater.
The concert will begin with several woodwind ensembles sharing the music they will be performing at the WDA Woodwind Festival later in the week. Next, the Symphonic Band will perform the touching and moving "Destined To Fly" by William Owens. The Concert Band will continue the program with another selection by William Owens called "Tundra," which depicts the harsh climate of the vast, flat region in which the subsoil is completely frozen and snowstorms are the norm. The Wind Ensemble will then play a selection called "Homage" by Belgium composer Jan Van der Roost.
All band members will play together for the last three selections of the evening. Selections are"Joy" by Frank Ticheli, "Journal for a Soldier" by Brian Balmages and "The Fairest of the Fair" by John Philip Sousa.
Admission is free for the concert. The doors open at 7 p.m.
