Valley City State University Music Department will present the senior recital of Rochelle Van Bruggen, soprano, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 in Froemke Auditorium. The recital will include selections by G. F. Handel, Richard Strauss, W. A. Mozart, Samuel Barber, Francesco Paolo Tosti and Undine Smith Moore, with Farren Rowan, piano, and a special appearance by VCSU faculty Kenneth Jimenez. Also featured will be the world premiere of “The Music of His Name” by Nicholaus Meyers.
A student of professor Robin Allebach, Van Bruggen is a senior music education major from Marion, N.D. She participates in the VCSU Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, Athletic Band and Jazz Band and is a leader for NAfME. Van Bruggen plans to student teach and graduate in the fall of this year. A reception will follow the recital. Admission is free, and all are invited to attend.
