Friday morning wind causes tree damage in Jamestown

Winds associated with a thunderstorm Friday morning downed some trees in the Jamestown area.

The National Weather Service reported wind gusts of 49 mph during the 3 a.m. hour and gusts of 43 mph during the 9 a.m. hour Friday causing some tree damage through Jamestown.

Many of the downed trees were reported in southwest Jamestown.

The same storm system brought 0.18 inches of rain to Jamestown, according to NWS measurements.

Sind gusts continued into the day Friday with gusts of near 40 mph reported as late as the early afternoon.
