Introduced by Sen. Scott Meyer, R-Grand Forks, Senate Bill 2293 eliminates taxes on military pay and Senate Bill 2223 expands the pool of potential members for military installation school boards.
Gov. Doug Burgum has said he would sign a bill to dispose of the so-called oil tax trigger, which he referred to as an “excess profits tax on companies that are investing greatly in our industry.”
Supporters have said the bill would save motorists time and reduce their likelihood of being pulled over. Opponents have said higher speeds will increase traffic fatalities.
"Yesterday term limits activists filed an ethics complaint over what they say is an unreported contribution to a lawmaker. Today it seems they have a significant discrepancy in their own finances."
The bill, which the Senate passed last month, represents the first in a wave of legislation opposed by LGBTQ advocates to reach Gov. Doug Burgum’s desk.
"Why shouldn't parents who use public dollars to send their children to private schools enjoy the same level of access to the tools of transparency and accountability?"
