Trump, who regularly refers to the panel as the "unselect committee," has accused it of waging unfair political attacks on him while refusing to investigate his charges of widespread election fraud.
Bannon was convicted by a jury in July on two counts of contempt of Congress for failing to provide documents or testimony. Each of the two counts was punishable by a minimum of one month and a maximum of one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
Biden says he would not comment further on the work of the Jan. 6 committee because he did not want to be perceived as influencing the attorney general, which he said he was not doing.
The House select committee's seven Democratic and two Republican members voted 9-0 in favor of issuing a subpoena for Trump to provide documents and testimony under oath in connection with the Jan. 6 attack.

Trump also didn’t communicate with Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser or Capitol Police.
