JAMESTOWN SCHOOL BOARD Special Meeting Official Minutes School Board special meeting on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Noon in the District Office conference room, 207 2nd Ave SE, Jamestown, ND. Present: Heidi Larson, President, Dan Tweten, Vice President, Melissa Gleason, Diane Hanson, Aaron Roberts, Jason Rohr and Superintendent, Robert Lech. Absent were Gayle Nelson, Roger Haut, and Steve Veldkamp. Guests: Jordan Nieuwsma and Chris Sievert. President Larson called the meeting to order and welcomed the audience, Jason Linz, Blue Jay Channel and Jane Lorig, receptionist. Mrs. Gleason moved, seconded by Mr. Tweten to approve the change order #3 for Gussner Elementary facility project. The change was for corridor duct opening in the amount of $2,540.31. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried. Mr. Roberts moved, seconded by Mr. Rohr to approve the change order #4 for Gussner Elementary facility project. The change was for walls and doors to be added in the amount $9,419.81. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried. Mr. Nieumwsma and Mr. Sievert from Consolidated Construction, reported on needing cooling systems for a section of rooms in the middle school that were not on the original bid. Mr. Tweten moved, seconded by Mr. Roberts to approve the purchase of additional cooling systems in the amount of $82,373.94 for the middle school. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried. Mrs. Gleason moved, seconded by Mr. Rohr to approve the hire of Diana Geizler as Special Education Technician at the High School, for a salary of $35,000.00 for the 2022-2023 school year. Upon a successful back ground check. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried. Mrs. Hanson moved, seconded by Mr. Roberts to approve the hire of Jerry Waagen as Work Force Coordinator at the JV Career and Technology Center at .25 FTE, for a salary of $13,957.05. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried. Mrs. Gleason moved, seconded by Mr. Rohr to approve to the hire of Amy Tarno as Business Teacher at the High School, for a salary of $50,540.88 for the 2022-2023 school year contingent on receipt of appropriate certification and successful back ground check. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried. Mr. Roberts moved, seconded by Mrs. Hanson to approve Budget Hearing date for September 19, 2022. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried. Mrs. Gleason moved, seconded by Mr. Rohr to approve the 2022-2024 gymnastics agreement in the amount of $10,000 annually. Roll call with unanimous “yes” vote. Motion carried.
