At 8:00 a.m., Chairman Klose called the special meeting of the Stutsman County Commission to order. All present.
The 2021 budget was discussed. Schwartz would like to use undesignated funds from the General fund to replenish the Emergency fund. This would get rid of the mill levy increase. Schwartz would also like to decrease the General fund mill levy by the amount of the CARES funding received. The fund balance policy requires 15-20% in reserve, and there is currently 50%. This would bring the reserve funds down to 39%. Schwartz made a motion to apply undesignated funds to the Emergency fund and use CARES funding to buy down the mill levy, seconded by Gumke. Ova, Gumke, Schwartz, Cichos, and Klose voted aye. Motion carried.
The hiring committee for the Auditor/COO position was discussed. David Bratton, Emeline Burkett, Chad Kaiser, Josh Smaage, and Jessica Alonge have volunteered to be on the committee. Mark Klose and Denny Ova will represent the commission. Schwartz made a motion, seconded by Ova, to approve the recommended committee members. Motion carried.
At 8:13 a.m., Gumke made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Cichos. Motion carried.
