Woodworth October City Council Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order with all member present. Minutes were read and approved by Buskness and seconded by Kuruc. The treasurer's report was given and motioned for approval by Kuruc and seconded by Buskness. Both motions carried.
Present at the meeting was Brenda Wolf, when asked if she had something to comment, she just said since she doesn't get the paper she is interested in hearing what the council of Woodworth was doing.
Buskness has been checking on prices for the culverts and he will
contact Bredahl to see if they can be put in before freeze up.
Buskness will also contact the county about "no engine brakes" on the west road coming into Woodworth.
Unpaid water bills were also discussed. Out of the 4 delinquent bills only 1 person has made an attempt to pay their bill. The other 3 people will be contacted by board members and if nothing is paid on their bill, their water will be shut off until payment is made. This was made into a motion by Snyder and seconded by Kuruc that a payment plan be set up, give them 2 weeks, and if nothing is paid the water will be shut off. There were 3 unpaid utility bills sent to the treasurer's office to be put on tax statements.
A motion was made by Martin and seconded by Buskness to pay the elevator for the use of their payloader when he pushed the trees up at the dump ground. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Kuruc and seconded by Martin that a copy of the minutes be included in the water bills. Motion carried.
The council is working on updating city ordinances. There were a couple of lawyers that Wick contacted and the board agreed to go with Leo Ryan since he handles city paperwork for surrounding cities. There are 4 ordinances that the council would like to update. These would include #1 large animals, chickens and dogs and cats, #2 unmown lots and lawns in the city of Woodworth, #3 junk, abandoned vehicles or vehicles that have been moved for a long time, #4 buildings that are no longer used but are still standing with broken windows and doors.
The bills were read and motioned to be paid by Snyder and seconded by Buskness. Motion carried.
Mayor Wick adjourned the meeting
