What You Think: Coverage lacking on March for Life

On Friday, Jan. 19, the 45th annual March for Life was held in Washington, D.C. Did you know that? Did you see any coverage on it in the paper, local or national news? I didn’t, maybe I missed it.

It was the largest March ever. An estimated half a million people came to march. Many from other countries came to support our march and learn how they can organize a march in their country. Some of the speakers included our 45th President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

Maybe that’s why there was no coverage?

The march was peaceful, no screaming, yelling, vulgar language and no vandalism. When asked why our paper didn’t cover the march I was told there was no room. The next day, there was a smaller march - it got a lot of coverage plus a picture. It was a march of a different kind. There has been no coverage of the marches in the paper or TV. It used to be front page news and pictures. I’m not surprised anymore. There was no room for Joseph, Mary and their baby either. Remember?

Let’s hope there will be room next year. I want to thank the Catholic TV station that had live coverage from 11 a.m. when the people gathered until the end at 2:30 p.m.
