Oppose Measure 3

The legalization of pot is about one thing: corporate profits at the expense of our state. North Dakotans should say no to Measure 3. Heres why:

Drugged driving crashes would soar. Data from the Washington State indicate that fatal car crashes where pot was involvedhave more than doubled since legalization.

Youth use would go up. The most comprehensive survey on drug use found there are more than 8,000 new marijuana users each day and 22% of 18 to 25-year-olds are currently using the drug.

According to the National Institutes of Health,70% of todays illegal drug users started off with marijuana. Todays marijuana is much more potent - and harmful - than in the past.

The illegal trade of marijuana is also soaring. In 2016, Colorado law enforcementconfiscatedover 7,000 pounds of marijuana, carried out 252 arrests, and made 346 highway interdictions of pot headed to 36 states.

Increased substance abuse, more impaired drivers on the roads, and thriving black markets - is this what we want to see in North Dakota?
