59 people donate at Trinity blood drive

JSSP Blood Drive

Vitalant collected 70 units of blood during a blood drive on May 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Sixty-six individuals volunteered to donate blood, and 59 individuals were able to donate at the drive. Ten donors gave Power Red Cells (2RBC), which collects two units of red blood cells while returning platelets, plasma and a saline solution to the donor. Three people volunteered for the first time.

Vitalant expressed its gratitude to Erika Nahinurk, who did registration for the drive, as well as Randy Lebond, who assisted with setting up the drive.

Vitalant strives to keep a five-day supply of every blood type on the shelf at all times to be able to meet the needs of patients across the region. Vitalant is the only blood provider to nearly 70 hospitals across the region.
