In honor of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts in New Rockford will present “The Andrews Brothers.”
Opening Wednesday, July 1, and running through Sunday, Aug. 9, this musical comedy follows the antics of three hapless stagehands who, to prevent the cancellation of a USO show, must don the mantle of the Andrews Sisters. “It’s Some Like It Hot meets ‘The Three Stooges,’ all set to the swingin’ hot music of the 1940s,” said Director Elliott Schwab.
In addition to Schwab, the show features Jared Kolles, Alex Hovey and Jacee Engels with live music by Annette Hovey, Delaine Rademacher, Tessa Hartl, Tony Peterson and Steve and Cathy Bowman.
To salute those who have served, a Wall of Honor will be assembled at the historic Old Church Theatre. Readers are encouraged to bring or send any photos of veterans in their service days to the Latte Lobby in New Rockford. People are asked to subject copies, not originals. Include with the picture the soldier’s name, rank and division.
