John M. Steiner is the artist of the month at Unison Bank. Steiner's exhibit features products made from wood including framed mirrors.
Steiner is the chief photographer for The Jamestown Sun. A self-taught photographer and graduate of the University of North Dakota, he has won numerous awards for his photos.
Steiner said his late father, John, was a cabinet builder, and he and his five brothers gained carpentry skills from their dad. All have been carpenters by trade or hobby.
Steiner said in his spare time he likes working with wood, whether it's for a remodeling project or making unique furniture or other items. He especially likes repurposing old wood and finding new uses for scrap lumber.
Steiner has sold his creations at JunkFest and Junkin Cuzins and said he has a loyal customer base.
