Stutsman County North Dakota Relay for Life begins at 2 p.m. Friday and ends at 2 a.m. Saturday at the University of Jamestown’s Taylor Stadium. The North Dakota Firefighters Association Parade is at 5 p.m. Friday starting in the Jamestown Civic Center west parking lot. About 30 fire trucks will exit onto 2nd Avenue Northeast, then turn right on 3rd Street Northeast. It will follow 3rd Street Northeast to College Road and end at the p arking lot for Taylor Stadium at the University of Jamestown.
A Benefit Bike Ride for Shawn Durfee is Saturday and begins at the Corner Bar in Jamestown. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and kickstands go up at noon. A “Wild West Shootout” is at 3 p.m. Saturday at Frontier Village. Admission is free.
The annual North Dakota Farm Toy Show is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 21, in the LaMoure school. Events include farm toy exhibitors, displays and crafters. Also on Saturday are a kids’ pedal tractor pull at 1 p.m. and a toy auction at 6 p.m. The Toy Farmers Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission: $5 per person; age 12 and younger are admitted free.
The Prairie and Potholes Birding Festival is June 10-14 at Carrington.
The Running of the Pink is at 9 a.m. Saturday at R.M. Stoudt.
The annual Kite Festival is June 12-14 at Meidinger Park. Air games will be available on Saturday. The event is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There is no admission charge.
The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department offers supervised activities in Meidinger, McElroy, Nickeus and Leapaldt parks for children ages 6-12. Activities including arts, crafts, games and more are from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program is free. Parents are responsible for transportation.
