The family of a Jamestown infant who received a heart transplant will receive the proceeds from a benefit at Wilhelm Chevrolet Buick GMC on Saturday.
Ryker Zeiszler was diagnosed with aortic stenosis in May. On Aug. 7, after three open heart surgeries, the infant received a heart transplant. Ryker and his parents will remain in Minneapolis for several months while he recovers.
Activities at Ryker's Run for Little Hearts, which is expected to be an annual event, begin at 9:30 a.m. The 5K color run costs $25 and includes a T-shirt. The run is followed by a freewill offering grill out, raffles and bake sales. Other activities include a donation from the Jamestown Shriners who will be involved in some of the activities throughout the day.
Proceeds of the benefit will go to cover Ryker's medical costs.
