The North Dakota Lifespan Respite Care Coalition is planning a meeting in Jamestown to discuss respite services and other support programs for caregivers.
The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Legacy Center at 419 5th St. NE, in Jamestown . Participants will discuss outreach, public relations opportunities and update progress in connecting unpaid family caregivers to resources available through North Dakota's Lifespan Respite Care Grant.
The $200,000 grant runs for three years and is intended to connect the unpaid caregivers with support services.
"Planned, unplanned and emergency situations happen where a caregiver needs someone else to step in short-term and continue caring for their loved one," said Mary Weltz, program administrator for the North Dakota Department of Human Services' Aging Services Division.
