I'm writing in regard to the article that was in The Jamestown Sun on July 7 about the man who authorities said stole a pickup and dragged a dog for a mile. I'm shocked that he didn't receive any type of punishment for dragging this dog to his death. If he didn't know the dog was being dragged then why did he stop after a mile to untie the dog? Shouldn't he be held accountable for his actions?

If he would have hit a person, he would have been charged with a crime. Yeah, I know, it was just a dog, but do you realize what kind of pain the dog went through before he died? That man should have been dragged to see if he likes how it feels and then maybe he'll think before he steals another vehicle. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
