Helen Roundy, 100, Rochester Hills, Mich., formerly Jamestown, died Sunday, June 8, 2007, in Rochester Hills.

Helen Marie Volkman was born April 11, 1907, near Windsor, N.D., the daughter of Karl and Emma Volkman. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1925. She married James Roundy on Aug. 17, 1925, in Watertown, S.D. They moved to Omaha, Neb., in 1926 where he worked as a grocery store manager for Piggly Wiggly. They moved to Detroit after their first daughter was born and he worked as a manager for several A&P grocery stores. They bought a farm in 1942 near Otter Lake, Mich. They sold the farm and moved to Aberdeen, S.D., in 1946 so that he and his brother could return to farming. They then bought a farm in 1951 northwest of Jamestown where they farmed for many years until they retired. They spent their summers at their farm and winters at their home in Yuma, Ariz., after that. She moved to James-town after his death and then to Rochester Hills in 2005 to be closer to her daughter. She enjoyed traveling.
