The Jamestown Fire Department responded to three fires Sunday and Monday with a total of $1,000 in damage and no injuries reported.
At 10:15 p.m. on July 4 units responded to 523 Third Ave S.W. A piece of fireworks was reported to have gone through a porch window.
Twenty-eight firefighters responded and were on the scene for about 30 minutes. No fire was reported in the porch but smoke was ventilated from the area.
At 1:36 a.m. on July 5 a fire was reported on a door of a detached garage at 619 Second Ave. N.E. Twenty-eight firefighters were on the scene for 1 hour and 10 minutes. The fire caused an estimated $1,000 in damage to the garage door and remains under investigation.
At 11 p.m. on July 5 a garbage can fire was reported in Nickeus Park. Twenty-six firefighters were on the scene for about 25 minutes.
