Woman injured in Jeep-semi accident
A Wishek, N.D., woman was airlifted to a hospital Monday for injuries she received from a Jeep-semi accident in LaMoure County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 5:11 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and N.D. Highway 13 near Edgeley, N.D.
The patrol said Claude Forbes, 40, Ontario, Canada, was driving a 2009 Freightliner and pulling an empty enclosed trailer south on 281.
Nancy Brandner, 68, Wishek, was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee west on Highway 13. After stopping at the intersection of Highways 281 and 13, the patrol said Brandner proceeded into the intersection and struck the trailer being pulled by Forbes.
Brandner was extricated from the Jeep and airlifted to a Bismarck hospital.
Both drivers wore seat belts. Forbes was not injured.
Damage was estimated at $15,000 for the Jeep and $20,000 to the trailer.
The LaMoure County Sheriff’s Department, Edgeley Fire and Rescue and the North Dakota Highway Patrol all responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the patrol.
