Commission authorizes bids for library roof
The Stutsman County Commission authorized Tuesday seeking bids to replace the roof on the Stutsman County Library.
Jim Fettig, Stutsman County Courthouse maintenance supervisor, said there was a lot of work done on the building when Stutsman County’s North Dakota State University Extension Service office moved into the building last year. He said the Extension Service part of the building has a metal roof, but the older library part of the building has a rock and asphalt roof that has extensive cracking on the side walls.
Fettig said he got some quotes last year and has budgeted $41,000 for the project. The roof is flat, and Fettig said the new roof would be covered in rubber and the side walls would be fixed with new metal flashing.
County Commission Chairman Mark Klose, who also is the commission’s representative on the James River Valley Library System Board of Directors, said he thought this was a library board issue. He said he would bring the issue up to the library board at its May 15 meeting.
In other business, the County Commission scheduled a second reading of the floodplain management addendum to the Stutsman County Zoning Ordinance. County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist said the only changes to the addendum were minor word changes and dates. The second reading will take place at the commission’s May 16 meeting.
