Name released in Cavalier County crash fatality

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the passenger who was killed late Friday in a Cavalier County crash around 5 miles west of Walhalla, N.D.

Matthew Webster, 33, Walhalla, died as a result of the 11:45 p.m. crash at the intersection of 121st Avenue and 105th Street Northeast, the patrol said. The driver, Heinrich Penner Fehr, 31, Walhalla, was heading east on 105th Street Northeast in a 2002 Chevrolet K1500 pickup when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve on the gravel road and the pickup overturned in the ditch, the patrol said.

Webster was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, the patrol said. Fehr was transported by Cavalier Ambulance to Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier with injuries. He was cited for DUI, the patrol said.

Pembina County Sheriff's Office, Cavalier County Sheriff's Office and Walhalla Fire Department also responded to the scene.
