Shooting sends Jamestown man to hospital

Jamestown Police Department officers responded to what is being described as an accidental shooting Tuesday night, according to Lt. Justin Blinsky.

Officers were called to 1110 12th St. SE at 11:09 p.m. Tuesday by a 27-year-old Jamestown man who said he had accidentally shot himself in the leg with a handgun. The man was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and later flown to a Fargo hospital, Blinsky said.

Foul play is not suspected although alcohol may have been a factor, Blinsky said.

The incident remains under investigation by Jamestown police.
