Two displaced after Wednesday fire
Two people were displaced after fire destroyed a home in northwest Jamestown Wednesday night.
Sheldon Mohr, training officer with the Jamestown Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday to 607 4th Ave. NW. Six units and 27 firefighters responded and were on the scene until 1:15 a.m. Thursday.
The two residents living in the home received assistance from the American Red Cross.
“It’s cold and miserable and the firefighters worked hard,” Mohr said.
Conditions at the time of the fire were 6 below zero with a wind chill of 31 below zero and light snow.
The building was a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
