The search for a Jamestown Parks and Recreation director is expected to conclude in November.
“It is an aggressive timeline,” said Mindi Shmitz, chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
The commission wanted the new director hired before December, so the individual can work with Doug Hogan, the current Parks and Recreation director, she said at the commission meeting Tuesday.
A search committee met on Oct. 6 to create interview questions. The deadline to receive applications for the director position is Friday, Oct. 15.
The commission will review applications on Oct. 18-22. Each commissioner will schedule one to two hours to review the applications and to rank each applicant in certain categories.
The search committee will then choose which applicants to interview on Oct. 27-28 with candidate interviews and community meet and greets scheduled for Nov. 1-5.
Director Doug Hogan announced his retirement on Aug. 9. Hogan’s last day as director will be Dec. 31.
Hogan has been the director since 1998.
