Anne Carlsen Center hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on May 22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall which helped collect a total of 48 units of blood products for patients in need.
Fifty-two individuals volunteered to donate blood and 41 individuals were able to donate at the blood drive. Four donors also donated Power Red Cells (2RBC) which collects two units of red blood cells while returning platelets, plasma and a saline solution back to the donor. There was one donor who volunteered for the first time.
Vitalant expressed its gratitude to Sheila Ova, who coordinated the drive, and Anne Carlsen Center which sponsored the blood drive, as well LeAnn Irish, who assisted the day of the drive.
