Accident results in damages

A woman reached down to retrieve something she'd dropped while driving Saturday and veered into a parked car, which caused more than $7,000 in damages, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

A woman reached down to retrieve something she'd dropped while driving Saturday and veered into a parked car, which caused more than $7,000 in damages, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The department said Lindsey Ann Hixson, 21, Rapid City, S.D., was westbound on Second Street Northeast at 3 a.m. when she ran into a car belonging to Joshua Perleberg, resulting in an estimated $5,500 to her 1997 Toyota and $2,000 to Perleberg's 1991 Chevy.

Police said Hixson informed Perleberg of the accident but didn't report it until 11:53 a.m.

Hixson was cited for driving without liability insurance.
