A Jamestown garbage truck driver was cited after striking an electric scooter Monday, according to Chad Kaiser, Stutsman County sheriff.

The accident was investigated by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office because an employee of the city of Jamestown was involved.

The accident occurred about 8 a.m. where the alley from the west intersects with the 200 block 1st Avenue North in Jamestown. No one was injured in the accident.

The garbage truck was exiting the alley and did not see the scooter, Kaiser said. The truck proceeded into the street, pushing the scooter in front of it.

Kaiser said the scooter, driven by Jeramie Tesky, 42, Jamestown, was damaged and not operational after the accident. The garbage truck was not damaged.

Chad Pecka, 43, Jamestown, the driver of the garbage truck, was cited for failure to yield.
