Mueller report sent to attorney general, signaling his Russia investigation has ended

No animals killed in cattle truck crash

A cattle truck rolled onto its side during a crash Tuesday morning three miles south of Oberon, N.D., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The patrol said Chad Tichota, 39, Norfolk, Neb., was driving a 2003 Peterbilt truck pulling a cattle trailer with 67 animals south on U.S. Highway 281. About three miles north of Oberon, Tichota missed a curve, the semitrailer ended the ditch and rolled.

The patrol said none of the 67 head of cattle died during the crash. Local ranchers helped transport the cattle to Devils Lake so the animals could be inspected for injury.

Tichota wore a seat belt. The patrol said Tichota was cited for care required in operation of a motor vehicle.

The Benson County Sheriff’s Office and Bureau of Indian Affairs Police also responded to the scene.
