Driver charged in crash that injured bicyclist
A juvenile was cited with multiple moving violations stemming from a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning, according to Lt. Robert Opp, day shift commander of the Jamestown Police Department.
Citations including leaving the scene of an accident and care required were issued to a 17-year-old girl in the case, Opp said Monday. The police report with the name of the driver was not available yet Monday afternoon, he said.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:54 a.m. Sunday in front of the Anchor Bar at 8210 33rd St. SE, the JPD said Sunday. A 36-year-old woman was riding a bicycle when she was struck by a four-door sedan, and the driver fled the scene without stopping.
The woman was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center where she was treated for unknown injuries and released, Opp said.
The case is still under investigation, Opp said.
