VALLEY CITY, N.D. — A Valley City man is recovering in the hospital after he suffered third-degree burns over 20% of his body, according to a family friend.

A GoFundMe page says Cory Meyer was in an accident where his wood-burning furnace exploded, burning him and breaking his clavicle.

After the explosion he was taken to Mercy Hospital in Valley City, sedated and intubated. He was then taken to Fargo, and he was life-flighted to Hennepin County Burn Unit in Minneapolis, a family friend says.

Cory has a wife and two kids. You can donate to his GoFundMe and read daily updates here: https://www.gofundme.com/please-help-cory-as-he-recovers-from-accident
