Mandan woman dies in southern North Dakota rollover crash

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a 23-year-old Mandan woman in a fatal crash 20 miles west of Ashley in southern North Dakota.

According to a press release, Kahlor Michael Krefting, 28, of Mandan, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala westbound on Highway 11 around 12:48 p.m. Thursday, May 2,when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve with fresh chip seal applied to the road. Courtney Elizabeth Degree, the sole passenger, was ejected when the vehicle entered the ditched and rolled over.

Both parties were transported to Ashley Medical Center, where Degree died from her injuries, the release said. Krefting was later transported to a Bismarck hospital with serious injuries.

Degree was not wearing her seat belt, and Krefting’s seat belt usage is unknown.
