A Mandan, N.D., woman died after a rollover accident in McIntosh County Thursday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 12:48 p.m. on N.D. Highway 11 about 20 miles west of Ashley.
The patrol said a 2006 Chevy Impala was traveling west when the driver, Kahlor Krefting, 28, Mandan, lost control on a curve where fresh chip seal had been applied. The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled, ejecting the passenger, Courtney Degree, 23, who died at Ashley Medical Center. Krefting’s seat belt use was unknown; Degree was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
Krefting was transported to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck with serious injuries.
The McIntosh sheriff, Ashley Ambulance and Ashley Fire/Rescue also responded to the scene.
